Our hospital offers a full range of services to keep your pets healthy. In addition to wellness visits where necessary vaccines are administered, we offer dentistry, radiology and surgery facilities.
Dentistry
Dentistries involve ultrasonic scaling, polishing and evaluation of questionable teeth with dental X-rays. If needed, surgical extractions are performed to minimize pain to your pet. All of this is done under general anesthesia - as required by the American Veterinary Dental College - and all pets have pre-procedure blood tests to check for kidney, liver and blood count abnormalities. During the dentistry, cardiac, oxygen saturation and respiratory monitoring are performed to ensure your pet's safety.
Surgery
Dr. Hahn has over 20 years of experience in performing a wide variety of surgeries from routine spays and neuters to complicated procedures involving the eyes, GI tract, and bladder. He commonly performs surgery to remove masses in the mouth or on the skin. Certain orthopedic procedures, including ACL repair have also been done at our hospital. We have an excellent working relationship with the area referral hospitals, including the University of Pennsylvania, so a specialist can be consulted if desired. Our surgical patients are given pre-anesthetic blood tests. During the procedures they have extensive monitoring of cardio-pulmonary systems. Pain medications are administered the day of surgery and dispensed for on-going pain management.
Diagnostic Services/Cardiology Specialist
We have X-ray, EKG and state-of-the-art chemistry analyzers. These allow us to determine abnormalities in your pet's internal organs, blood counts, electrolytes and cardiac conduction. All of this is done in-house and can be performed within minutes on modern equipment of the highest quality available.
We are fortunate to have the availability of a board-certified Veterinary Cardiologist, Dr. Megan King. You can minimize your pet's stress by bringing him to somewhat familiar surroundings (our hospital) where Dr. King will perform an ultrasound and EKG. All further follow-up will be at Main Line Vet.
Microchipping
Microchips represent a way of tracing your pet back to you in the event they are lost. Local veterinarians and shelters can scan your pet and read his unique number. With this number, the lost pet's owner, alternate contact and original microchip implanter (vet or shelter) are identified. In 2010, we recently began using Bayer's ResQ chip as this is an ISO (international) chip with a very good track record of reliability and company support.
Microchips can also be utilized to obtain a lifetime dog license from the Chester County Treasurer's office. This eliminates the need to re-apply for a dog license each year.
